Casablanca model luxury leisure

One of the shows that I regretted missing last season was Charaf Tajer’s inaugral PFW show for Casablanca, so to make up for it, I trekked the hilly terrain of Musee de Montmatre to get to the SS20 show. As soon as I stepped into the Cafe de Flore, complete with an orangerie I was transported into a beautiful Parisian Cafe set in a garden.

Known for capturing and delivering the essence of opulence, Charaf once again remained on motif to give us the ultimate vacay vibes. Casablanca delivered a beautiful collection which in my opinion personifies the likes of Hugh Heffner, Scott Disick, and even Pablo Escobar! The brand showcased its famed silk shirts and paired them with velour trousers- another material evocative of luxury.  Charaf also introduced fine tailoring through the double breasted suits which although formal in structure, are still holiday appropriate (think destination wedding).

Charaf uses pastel colours as his baseline and then layers with fun prints depicting elements such as wildlife, scenery, fruit or mythological creatures which brings the pieces to life.  Casablanca’s statement co-ords are nothing short of a work of art, with some pieces showing detailed pearl beading on denim as worn by artist Jnr Choi, creating a semblance of vintage Chanel due to the pearl accessories.

The punchy vibrant items emulate a tropical paradise and is a perfect guideline of how to do vacations the Casa-Way. A massive well done to Creative Director Charaf Tajer and Art Director Steve Grimes. This certainly won’t be the last time I write about them.
