Fashion has always been known for pushing the boundaries in terms of risqué attire and whilst for most brands that might mean barely there, figure-hugging, or delicately made pieces; others have taken a more tongue-in-cheek approach to unconventional design.

One brand that has turned the dial up in daring design, is womenswear brand Vivetta. For anyone that hadn’t come across Vivetta before, their SS23 show firmly put the brand on the map with its hands on approach to design.

Similar to brands such as Schiaparelli, the brand’s barely there bralets and tops straddle the line between clothing and jewellery; with its silver and diamanté encrusted hands going across the chest, or even its sheer nude bralet featuring embroidered flowers across delicate parts owing to the show’s botanical motif.

Normally known for its knitwear and high-neck dresses, Vivetta’s break away into more racy attire is well received; not simply because it plays into more hedonistic lifestyle, but actually offers an opportunity for creativity in wardrobe pairing. Such pieces could be paired with a boxy oversized blazers, low rise jeans, and could also be layered as a piece of statement jewellery.

Vivetta’s tweaking hands motif is applied to a number of pieces throughout the show; from mini skirts to blazers, and offer a really playful take on an otherwise simplistic hand gesture, which could easily work it’s way into becoming the brand’s signature design.

By incorporating an element of jewellery, Vivetta has elevated this saucy collection into something uncontrived and wearable, as they transform into more conversational decorative pieces. Most brands create audacious pieces mainly for those with a daring style code but Vivetta offers a varied collection catering to individuals at varying ends of the style spectrum. If this is a design choice that the brand wishes to continue then all I can say is Viva La Vivetta!
