Gou’d new brand: Kirin

In the last few days I’ve been inundated with new brands which makes me very excited as it means there’s a lot more to share. The next brand came via the instagram of none other than dope DJ and producer Peggy Gou.

Peggy Gou starting her own brand by the name of Kirin, is unsurprising given her incredible style as she’s frequently adorned in high end designer pieces and kills each look whether dressed up or down. She is often a muse or inspo for some of our instafaves (myself included).

After following the Kirin instagram, I started to see signs of activity last month which was then followed by a launch event attended by other designers and friends such as Marcelo Burlon, Yoon Ahn, and Virgil Abloh. The activity peaked my interest after seeing the launch through the instagram accounts of leading ladies such as Louis Vuitton PR Songe Park and buying director of My Theresa Tiffany Hsu.

From the few pieces I’ve seen this brand is definitely going to make its way into my wardrobe. The all over logo two piece in black is a statement piece and could easily be paired with an all black Nike Air Max 720 (silhouette modelled by Peggy in her global Nike Campaign).

Kirin brand has also teased a Vichy suit and a very sexy red latex trench coat. Upon release, I don’t doubt that Kirin will be a prominent feature in fashion street style as Peggy designs clothes suitable for a variety of personas. I’m drawn to her print pieces as it means she will be able to deliver truly eye catching pieces throughout the seasons. Who knows maybe one day we may even see a Kirin x Supreme collab!

Much like the symbolism of the brand name itself, with pieces like these I’m sure that Kirin will be a brand with longevity and success and I wish Peggy all the best in the journey.
