For as long as we’ve ever known, jewellery has always completed an outfit. Whether it’s a dainty pair of earrings, or a statement necklace, jewellery has always been the final hallmark of a well put together outfit. While this will undoubtedly continue to be the case, from full on bling to crystals, there are some designers that are making jewellery the outfit itself!

One such designer is Jeniece Blanchet, known for her handmade jewellery brand Jeblanc. Blanchet’s eye catching costume creations are unlike anything I’ve seen. From her 18k gold sculpted ‘Wifey’ earrings to my favourite, the ‘Eye of Heaven’ ring; her designs are for those wanting to step into the limelight due to their extroverted shapes and sizes.

What’s really struck me is how Blanchet has translated this into actual garments. Her beaded and crystal dripped bralets and waistbeads are perfect head-turning beach attire. Sculpted to perfection, this captivating collection of precious stones and crystals are both visually and audibly attractive as you’re bound to be seen and heard in any room. Even though I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of Blanchet’s designs on stages and in editorials, I’d love to see her design a carnival costume; maybe even Rihanna’s outfit for the next Crop Over in Barbados!

Regardless of what she does next, Blanchet has proven that jewellery doesn’t just have to be an addition to the outfit but instead can BE the outfit. Despite how you choose to adorn yourself, if you wish to be showered in compliments, then make sure you’re jewelled in Jeblanc.
