After a brief hiatus I’m back to writing love letters to the brands I’ve had my eyes on for a little while now. As you can imagine that list is growing exponentially so it’s time to resume serving them up for your consumption!
Starting off strong we have what is currently one of the most experimental brands. Everyday we’re inundated with brands that alter designs to create new variants of beloved garments. What sets brands apart are ones that change the canvas of garments by applying more experimental fabrics to turn clothes into art pieces. No one does this better than Algerian brand Bent Kahina created by Jora Frantzis.
The brand shot to mass exposure with its chrome durag which looked straight out of Assasins Creed but it was the custom red PU leather set that really solidified their creative genius. I’m still marvelling at their ability to manipulate fabrics into editorial worthy pieces with mind blowing structures.
Looking at their ombré puffer set, or the Liquid Metal colour shifting two piece, it’s clear that Bent Kahina takes inspiration from the gaming world as they make pieces that look like they belong in an alternate reality and to be honest I Kahina love it and I’m ready to play!
