There’s nothing I love more than when a brand has a clear motif, something they can become synonymous with. Not only is it (literally) woven into the fabric of their pieces but it puts them at the helm of a particular style of design. Whilst we’re used to this with historical brands ​such as the Burberry check, or the Bottega weave, it’s great to see much loved independent brands develop a motif of their own. 

This can be said for eponymous label Stanley Raffington with his plated leathers and knits. The vertical lines creates subtle distortion while slimming the silhouette. 

While currently being stocked at SSENSE, Stanley shows great promise for global reach with his definitive style codes and an effortless aura of cool that comes with his pieces; almost as if there’s a certainty that they work for every kind of style.
