Although fashion month took up much of my time, this hasn’t stopped me passively earmarking brands to explore at a later date, and thankfully that later date has come sooner than expected. One brand that I recently came across on Instagram is Sabery, created by CSM graduate designer, Julia Sabery.
Sabery’s handmade pieces are delicately sculpted to create dainty two-pieces, that are dyed to perfection. Constructed from silk yarn, these pieces take on the form of boob tubes, and asymmetrical twisted tops with deeply satisfying sunset and seascape colouring. Sabery’s skirts are also a thing of beauty as the lightweight miniskirts feature a thigh slit which sculpts to the body to accentuate the figure.
As far as graduate collections, Sabery gets top marks as you could easily envision this as a staple for the girls either as summer or holiday attire. I’m very interested in seeing how the brand develops and how it might create more Autumn/Winter appropriate pieces. Whichever designs Julia wishes to release in her next collection, I’m certain it will be both sweet and Sabery.
