When it comes to European brands, there are some that I consider to be part of the fabric of fashion, the ones we know and love, that couldn’t be more true for Antwerp based brand Arte. Owned by Bertony Da Silva, the brand has always has always been the bedrock of contemporary clothing. If modern architecture could be reflected in clothing, Arte would be the output.
With its clean lines and careful prints, Arte has mastered simplicity. I’m still reeling from their AW19 collection which featured colour blocked sweaters and logo print oversized scarves. Arte’s AW20 collection is just as captivating with its monochrome graphic prints and a series of interchangable pieces.
The brand has opted for more neutral, soft and muted tones for their signature essentials, and in doing so has created a collection that is easily incorporated into any wardrobe. Arte’s creative direction is every bit intentional and translates into a strong body of work that accurately presents itself as a staple brand.
