Yay for Yaito!

Finding U.S. brands always excites me, and we all know what really makes an outfit is quite often the jacket. In the past week, I’ve come across a brand known as Carlton Yaito, the eponymous label started off by making custom denim jackets some years ago and has since evolved into making beautifully crafted cropped jackets.

For someone like myself who is rarely into cropped jackets, Carlton Yaito makes womenswear look appealing. His jackets have a boxy fit meaning they are able to fit both a feminine and androgynous aesthetic. With paisley print being in season and statement pieces such as the Loewe Paisley bandana co-ord seen on the likes of Asap Rocky; Yaito doesn’t miss a beat with the creation of the Paisley reconstructed jacket, which features a collage of various paisley colours. Yaito shows off a breath of expertise learned in design school, from his Toile jacket to the colour blocked Rubix Felt Jacket.

These Spring/Summer jackets are the perfect statement pieces and would be ideal for Fashion week! If you’re wearing a Yaito piece, the rest of the outfit should be monochrome because they need no support, the piece alone does the talking. I look forward to seeing more women in Carlton Yaito clothing and personally believe it would suit the likes of Aleali May or colour queen Alani! These jackets are so premium I might as well call him Ritz Carlton Yaito! Honestly, a job well done and a win for womenswear.
