What Xdreams are made of…

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know my fondness for this next brand. I’ve been stalking/researching Xdreams for some time and this summer I finally got to meet the designer, Giovanni at the Xdreams pop up in Boxpark Shoreditch. Sure enough, I love the brand even more, and recently Giovanni has been teasing some Winter fire!

The Xdreams: Art Behind The Murder pop-up gave me a real insight into Giovanni’s motivation and creative process. From his self taught design to his business acumen. Gio highlights the beauty that can come out of a chaotic process. His Art Behind The Murder theme signifies a rebirth once certain ideologies have been stripped away to create something unconventional.

I’m used to seeing a lot of Xdreams sample pieces on artist Ling Hussle, however recently, Gio has been teasing ultimate heat which I plan to incorporate into my wardrobe. His cut and sew ability continues to shine through and array of jackets which he plans on releasing as his ‘Combination Collection’.

For those of you that don’t think its possible to look swaggy in winter, Gio’s here to prove you all wrong. From bombers to puffers and even Shearling coats, Gio’s execution has been spot on and after seeing his supporters travel from all over, this is sure to sell out as he continues on his country wide tours.

While he remains somewhat underground, this feels like the collection that could introduce Xdreams to the masses and I hope to be a part of that. Judging by the samples we’ve seen so far, its clear that Gio has been burying himself away in order to consistently create and evolve. Unconcerned with the hype and clout, he draws from various styles to create high quality statement pieces. To put it into context, Giovanni is the J-cole of the fashion industry, and the ‘Combination Collection’ is Forest Hills Drive. The unwavering support for Xdreams is likely to continue to make Gio’s dreams a reality.
